Survivors Return

Why was this a tough film to make? For starters, here we were asking Holocaust survivors, ages 74 to 90, to make the long trip back to the country that tried to kill them. Then to ignite hidden memory and more fully tell their story, they made their way down muddy steps and slippery slopes to wind their way through narrow cave passages that came back to life in the dark they knew so well.
